The Undergraduate Student Services advising staff provides academic advising to undergraduate students interested in the Computer Science and Engineering majors at UMBC.

Position Overview:

UMBC is seeking a Transfer Success Academic Advisor to support pre- and post-transfer success initiatives in the College of Engineering and Information Technology. Responsibilities include advising current transfer students, providing pre-transfer advising to prospective students, assisting with orientation for incoming transfer students, evaluating transfer applications and participating in recruitment and retention activities for transfer students.

Responsibilities:

The Transfer Success Academic Advisor is responsible for providing a range of services to current and prospective COEIT transfer students. Duties will include:

  • Pre-advising prospective transfer students
  • Providing advising to current UMBC transfer students
  • Evaluating transfer applications for eligibility
  • Providing advising support for transfer students at orientation and post transfer
  • Assisting with transfer success initiatives within the college

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • One year experience in higher education or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
