Job description
Duties
- Instructs participants in one or more aquatic specialty.
- Teaches all fundamental aspects, methods and techniques to include water safety, lifeguard training, SCUBA, aquatic exercise, AFO (Aquatic Facilities Operator), and adapted aquatics instructing to students. Solicit volunteers for aquatic program.
- Organize classes, conduct customer feedback surveys to evaluate aquatic sessions.
- Assist with the overall operations of the pool.

- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
- Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
Qualifications
- Must have work experience and skill as described above that demonstrates a comprehensive practical knowledge of all facets of Aquatics.
- Must posses a wide range of training methods, techniques and tools in order to develop and maintain courses.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR/AED/1st Aid certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
- In addition, possesses and maintains one or more of the following certifications : American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, or American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer, or NRPA Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) Instructor certification, or AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association Instructor), or Adapted Aquatic Instructor, or S.C.U.B.A. Instructors (PADI, NAUI, YMCA or equivalent nationally recognized organization)
