YOU

You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As a Trainee Machine Operator, you will have the opportunity to work with and assist Senior Machine Operators in their daily duties. In this position, you will gain valuable knowledge of the Screw Manufacturing department through a combined OJT and structured coursework program, which will consist of both classroom and on-the-job training over the course of a one-year Traineeship. This position works a Monday - Thursday shift – from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Training (100%)

• Adhering to all known standards for safety, quality, and production.
• Learning to read blueprints to do visual product inspections to verify conformance to print specifications.
• Tracking conformance to trained standards of quality.
• Learning to report on all production processes throughout the shift.
• Learning proper methods for changing tools and adjusting machines.
• Performing housekeeping.
• Learning how to properly maintain and perform daily machine maintenance.
• Learning how to properly troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Driving a forklift.
• Retrieving raw materials, and/or delivering the finished product to the outbound staging area as needed.
• Learning to, and becoming a full-fledged Header/Threader Machine Operator.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Experience using Calipers to measure parts and reading blueprints is required.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Mechanical ability.
• Able to consistently prioritize safety as job #1 by demonstrating following all known and trained safety standards, safe work practices, and promoting a safe work environment.
• Accountability & Dependability by consistently demonstrating reliability and punctual attendance.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires 0% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, hourly position is located in Gallatin, TN.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

Pay

$21.00 / hour
