Job Summary: This is work performing duties in one or more trades such as maintenance, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or mechanical HVAC.

Job duties include:

• Assists with minor construction, painting, plumbing, electrical, mechanical (HVAC) duties at District Headquarters, Sunnyhill, Lake Apopka, Bayard, Lake George, Longleaf, Geneva and Apopka Service Center with primary focus on maintenance such as pressure washing, painting, and cleaning.
• Performs general maintenance duties in support of SJRWMD staff and functions including assembling, installing, and moving of furniture and office equipment.
• Performs cleaning duties required for cleanup of incidental mishaps including mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming.
• Checks working environment for potential safety hazards and makes appropriate corrections.

Ability to:

Climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; work in small or confined areas-manholes, ceilings; lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds; pulling and pushing of objects/furniture; grasping objects -tools, equipment, materials, etc. stooping or crouching; distinguish color-electrical wiring; distinguish sounds, i.e. air leaks, bearings going bad, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or G.E.D.

Licenses:

Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.

Additional Details:

Starting Salary Range: $33,280.00 - $41,600.00

Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.
