Job Title: TOUCH Food Program Pantry Assistant (20-30 Hours per week)

Location: TOUCH, Congers NY

Reports to: Program Manager for Food & Nutrition Services

TOUCH’s Food and Nutrition Program

Help prevent hunger, reduce waste and promote health by joining TOUCH’s Food and Nutrition program team. TOUCH - Together Our Unity Can Heal, provides food and nutritional counseling as we distribute food for more than a million meals per year to local families in need.

Job Description

TOUCH Food Program Assistant will be responsible for: 1) loading and unloading delivery trucks and picking up food from local outlets; 2) stocking, rotating and storing inventory; 4) packing food bags for distribution, 5) helping with pantry organization, quality control, maintenance and cleaning; 5) assisting with TOUCH food distribution events as needed; 6) helping clients fill out required forms (e.g., program enrollment, receipt of food deliveries). 7) Other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills and Job Requirements

- A valid driver’s license and safe driving record

- Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly as needed

- Can work independently and as part of a team

- Complete safe food handling and other trainings as required

- Good communications skills with diverse populations

- Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook

- Able to perform [limited] administrative tasks such as record-keeping, filing and data entry

- English language proficiency required, Spanish or Creole language skills are a plus
