The Heritage of Hannah Neil Residentail is hiring a therapist to serve the children (ages 5-12) in residence with us.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides therapy to children in both groups and individual sessions.
- Timely documents services provides.
- Provides diagnostic assessments.
- Develops individual Treatment Plans in collaboration with clients, families, and other members of the RTC interdisciplinary team and providing treatment plan updates in accordance with agency and licensing/accrediting body standards.
- Promotes team cohesiveness by participating in daily interactions and activities with the team of staff members providing direct care to the girls and boys.
- Assures quality care by collaborating with the legal guardian in facilitating referrals to community resources to ensure appropriate linkage to community services upon discharge.
- Helps to improve the quality of services by providing training as needed to Residential Specialists and other RTC staff on relevant therapeutic issues.
Education/License Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field
- License/Certification: LSW (Licensed Social Worker) or LPC (Licensend Professional Counselor). Preferred: LPCC or LISW with CCDC or Registered Candidate status
Other:
- Knowledge of and experience with mental health treatment and trauma informed treatment, knowledge of and experience working with children with behavioral problems.
- Preferred: Two to four years’ experience providing mental health services to children with mental health/behavioral problems and families, preferably within an interdisciplinary team model.
- Experience with play therapy or evidence-based therapy for children (preferred).
- Employee must be able to demonstrated knowledge of principles of brief, solution-focused therapy, interventions with youth with behavior disorders, and of principles of typical and atypical adolescent development.
- Effective planning, organizational, communication, and time management skills are necessary for this position.
- This position requires candidates to pass Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training
