New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required BLS and ACLS required for the job.
Job Summary: The Cardiopulmonary Rehab Exercise Therapist (CRET) will assist staff with applying telemetry leads to rehab pts. Obtain resting and exercise blood pressures. Develop exercise prescriptions for moderate and high risk pts. The CRET will help orient new patients to the program and daily routine. Assist with setting pt.’s up on their exercise program. The CRET will assist with the progression of the patients exercise programs and document changes in pt.’s chart. Be capable of assessing pts for symptoms, recognize arrhythmias and know counter indications to exercise. Assist with cleaning equipment. Serve as a monitor tech. Help set up and prepare for each class. The CRET must have excellent interpersonal and organizations skills. Must be able to multitask. The CRET will help fax progress reports, POC, discharge reports and assist with chart audits. The CRET must possess the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively with peers and patients. Working knowledge of computer programs and operations. The ability to use appropriate discretion in handling confidential material and information.
Report Relationships: Reports to Director Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation & CPET Testing
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds; must be able to stand for extended period of times. Have ability to demonstrate exercises. No difficulty with bending and squatting
OSHA TASK CATEGORY TWO: There is an occasional exposure to mucous membranes of skin contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues, or a potential for spills or slashed during the performance of the job. Universal precautions must be observed and protective devices worn by the employee when performing a task that is likely to cause exposure.
