Job Summary and Qualifications
This position will be responsible for all aspects of resource allocation, test planning and test execution for Sarah Cannon and Alliance for Decision Support applications/solutions. The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will be responsible for working with the Product Owners and Project Managers to ensure testing is performed according to established Quality Assurance Center of Excellence guidelines within the required project delivery timelines.
The QA Manager is tasked with the overall responsibility for the test effort's success. The role involves quality and test advocacy, resource planning and management, and resolution of issues that impede the test effort. This includes but is not limited to:
- Ensuring the appropriate resource planning, management and development of the test resources
- Negotiating the ongoing purpose and deliverables of the test effort
- Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test effort
- Advocating the appropriate level of quality by the resolution of important defects
- Advocating an appropriate level of testability focus in the software development process
- Build a testing team of professionals with appropriate skills, attitudes and motivation.
- Defining and implementing continuous process improvement within the testing lifecycle
- Work closely with the QA Director to ensure alignment of goals and team’s success
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates a positive environment for the testing team staff including open, honest communication and a clear path to escalate risks and issues. Facilitates fast and efficient decision-making required for progress on the project. Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises test team members and contractors, and encourages them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Participates in resource planning, recruits, and allocates resources to meet the ITG projects portfolio. Responsible for personnel management within the functional area. Conducts performance reviews, career development, and coaching activities.
Builds, develops, and grows business and ITG relationships important to the success of the solutions. Creates an environment that encourages information sharing, team-based resolutions, cross-training, and process improvement within the department to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and service excellence.
Maintains and grows knowledge and experience in area of Software Testing/Quality Assurance. Demonstrates solid understanding of (insert line of business) solutions, business, and/or technical processes and implemented IT solutions.
