The Test Automation Engineer need strong exposure or aptitude to understand and develop an Automation Framework, and support test management tools supported by Test automation team. S/he needs to understand SDLC standards and best practices. S/he provides analysis and develops automated solutions to business problems.
This position is in trade processing and SONIC Mainframe area and will automate test cases that involve data processing and validation producing data outputs where source is mainframe or SWIFT files and validation uses database table/fields, VSAM, and/or UI screens. Produce data outputs to assist manual test team validation. Second major goal is to automate business regression test cases. This will require big picture of processing and ability to breakdown workflow into logical and buildable scripting. Use of Jenkins, selenium, eclipse, intellij CE, jmeter, serenity reports. Conversion of some existing scripts from UFT to jagacy. Demonstrate working knowledge of Java programming, DB2 and Mainframe.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze available UFT scripts and convert to Jagacy work with fellow QA team manual testers to understand the needs of automation to deliver data that is used for processing analyze and use existing automation framework to build and add on and expand what is currently provided.
- Assist in creating automation test strategy plans for all the projects involved in using standards and methodologies defined by the Organization.
- Develop integration and regression test cases based on test design best practices.
- Participate in automation estimation and planning discussion
- Document test results, enter defect where applicable
- Support re-testing of application to resolve issues debug script issues, work on efficiency of design
- Expand and develop existing framework to support new technologies under supervision
- Develop effective techniques to utilize test tools and automation framework to avoid redundancy
- Create and execute SQL scripts wherever required for data validation
- Execute automated test cases as per the testing deadlines for the project and report progress of test execution as per organization standards
- Maintain and design test data and test environments required for execution of automated testing
- Report status of progress of testing through daily, weekly and other reporting mechanism to all stakeholders for the project
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (computer science or related)
5+ years of Automation work experience (UFT, Jagacy a bonus)
3 years Mainframe/DB2 experience
Hard Skills (at least 3 of the following)
Core
- Strong application tier knowledge required
- Understanding of quality assurance & SDLC
- Knowledge of software development methodologies
- SQL knowledge is required
- Mainframe/DB2/Vsam programming skills
- Object oriented programming
- Scripting knowledge
Strong knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks:
- CI/CD using tools like UFT, Jenkins, GitHub, Maven
- Build tools (ant, maven, Gradle)
- Unit testing frameworks (JUnit, TestNG)
- Web UI testing tools (Selenium webdriver)
- Jenkins piplelines
- BDD frameworks experience (Cucumber/JBehave/Serenity

Salary Range
The salary range is 90,000 to 115,000
