The Clark County Office of Communications and Strategy Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Television/Writer Producer position. This position develops, composes and produces public information programming and announcements on County-wide activities and programs through a variety of communications media.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

This position is a non-union position and excluded from membership in the union.
Education and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Information, or a field closely related to the work AND three (3) years of full-time professional experience as a writer and producer in broadcast media.
Working Conditions: Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Creates, composes and produces video-format projects for cable access programming. Creates, composes and produces public service announcements for airing on commercial broadcast stations, as well as on cable access programming. Establishes shoots, schedule crew and guests, and perform subject research. Supervises edit sessions. Creates, composes and produces in-house training videos. Set-up and supervises editing and contract video productions. Consults with in-house clients to determine program needs. Develops and maintains media contacts. Confers with and represents the department and the County in meetings with staff from other departments, representatives of governmental, community, business, professional and public agencies and the public. Maintains accurate records and files. Prepares a variety of technical, statistical and narrative reports, correspondence and other written materials. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Uses standard office equipment including a computer and audio-visual equipment, in the course of the work; drives a County or personal motor vehicle to attend meetings and visit work sites and locations.
