Job description
Incumbent works under the direction of the Chief Deputy Treasurer assisting with the functional aspects of the automated software systems throughout the Treasurer's Office.
- Manage, develop and maintain all aspects of the Treasurer systems, related network operations, network security, data integrity, and design.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
- Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
- Assist in maintaining and operating (e.g. configuration, user group access and permissions) of the automated cashiering system used for the processing and recording of all payment transactions conducted in the Treasurer's Office.
- Monitor day-to-day operations, system speed and reliability, and assist in maintaining/troubleshooting import processes.
- Monitor, investigate, and assist in resolving system errors.
- Maintain, configure and support department's computer networks, computer equipment and peripheral equipment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance; ensuring systems and servers are operational.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the network infrastructure, maximizing use of cable runs, switches, and patch panels.
- Assist in configurations and specifications for computer systems; create evaluations of vendors, recommend purchases, manage and perform computer systems installation and upgrades.
- Immediately respond to and resolve systems problems; remaining available to provide technical support.
- Contribute to system and network security design and procedures providing protection and data integrity.
- Develop/maintain internet and intranet websites for the Treasurer's Office.
- Maintain documentation of all configurations, changes, improvements, and/or user tables.
- Assist in the design, installation and maintenance of video security systems for all Treasurer locations.
- Monitor the functionality of the video systems, cabling, network and associated servers and storage systems, and assist in planning for the replacement of equipment and adoption of improved technologies within budget constraints.
- Assist in application design of program interfaces facilitating generation of standard reports or access data; write SQL scripts, general queries and stored procedures.
- Develop and support web-based applications.
- Monitor systems resources, equipment and costs annually providing input for the annual budget.
- Prepare custom reports writing queries and extracting required information from multiple sources.
- Assure confidentiality of information in accordance with departmental policies/procedures, federal regulations and court orders.
- Provide end user support to customer service and administrative staff, responding to questions on software, hardware, and peripheral use.
- Provide user training and technical support.
- Assist in defining/implementing agency disaster recovery procedures and server backup strategies.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle when required to travel on County business.
- Report to work with regular, consistent attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Services Management, Computer Science, or Business Administration required.*
- Two (2) years direct work experience in computer networking, computerized accounting systems, database/spreadsheet applications, computer equipment, software products, and local networks required.
- Two (2) years experience using SQL and Oracle data structures and schemas required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and own mode of transportation at the time of hire and throughout employment.
- Completion of a pre-employment criminal records check and post-offer drug screen.

- Work is generally performed in an office setting. Noise level is usually moderate. - Work requires some physical activity including extended periods of sitting and standing; frequent walking, reaching and carrying, and occasional climbing stairs, balancing, bending, kneeling and stooping. Incumbent must have the ability to frequently lift/carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges, include close, distance and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. Incumbents must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment.
