About the Position: Technology Support Consultant II, 208732
This position will be located at our Wichita Parole Office, Sedgwick County.

Compensation: $36,171.20 to $53,414.40/Annual ($17.39 to $25.68/Hr.)*
- Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications. Classified Pay Grade 24, Steps 4-20.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for supporting mission critical applications, devices, and systems relied upon by staff of the Southern Parole Region of the Kansas Department of Corrections.
The position also provides support of KDOC applications and systems used by Community Corrections staff in the region. On occasion this position may be asked to perform duties and/or assist with other team functions outside of the immediate region.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Network- data and voice communication - Responsible for the installation and maintenance of the KDOC/Parole/Community Corrections network infrastructure along with its compliance with KDOC's WAN.
Server Platform (multi-user) - hardware; system and utility software - Position is responsible for multiple servers to include network integrity, security, and compliance. Provide system support for the KDOC/Parole/Community Corrections electronic mail, web services and file storage servers.
User Platform (single user) - hardware, system, utility and office automation software - Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop computers and software.
Enterprise Security - application security, firewalls, intrusion detection, desktop protection - This position will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining polices relating to the storage and access of data contained within networked systems. This position will also be responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of the data security policies as well as to identify breaches of this policy.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years advising and assisting computer users in a distributed computing environment.
Substitution: Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of Desktop Support experience in a domain network environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
CompTIA A+ Certification (or equivalent).
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must pass a criminal history records check.
