Essential Functions and Objectives:
The Environmental Technician will support compliance programs as they relate to school safety and management of asbestos in schools. Assure compliance with all asbestos regulations and building occupant safety at all times.
Maintain asbestos program compliance by performing 6-month asbestos building surveillance and 3-year reinspections per AHERA.- Update AHERA Management Plans as needed in the schools and interpret information within for school staff, contractors, etc.
- Collect and submit samples to certified lab for asbestos as needed for updating AHERA plans or other needs.
- Revise computer based asbestos management plan programs, data and floor plans in accordance with state and federal regulations from new sample data, inspections or to reflect changed conditions resulting from capital improvement projects. Ability to work with and maintain large datasets and supporting documentation.
- Additional duties as assigned such as water sampling, investigating complaints, chemical inventories, etc.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
Experiene with other environmental health programs, education or sampling is desired.- Asbestos Building Inspector desired.
- Asbestos Management Planner and/or 16-hour Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Worker desired.
- Colorado Class "R” driver’s license required.

Minimum high school diploma, plus technical courses and experience necessary to perform duties identified.
