Position Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a highly motivated, highly organized individual to work in a laboratory team environment with a diverse group of personnel.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine research laboratory assignments as well as maintaining, modifying and analyzing cell lines.
• Collect and prepare research information needed for studies.
• Maintaining and checking accuracy of instruments and perform preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Order laboratory supplies and materials, allocating supplies to various research projects.
• Provide general support and technical assistance to other laboratory workers.
• Comply with the correct procedures, policies, and health and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalency certificate.

• Technical Training or equivalency and related laboratory experience, usually six months.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.A. or B.S. degree in Biology, Neuroscience or other appropriate science discipline.

• Previous experience working in a research laboratory setting desirable.
