The Opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is looking for a Technical Faculty Training and Development Facilitator for its online programs. The Technical Faculty Training and Development Facilitator will research and develop faculty training for increased teaching effectiveness leading to student success and persistence. This includes working cross-departmentally to determine and offer appropriate programming and training to facilitate faculty training and development. You should have technical expertise and be dynamic and flexible. You will report to the Lead Technical Faculty Training and Development Facilitator. This is a fully remote position.
In this Role You'll Get To:
- Conduct user experience testing and serve as technical expert in Brightspace running pilots and tests related to our faculty roles and responsibilities.
- Test functionality and applicability of academic technology from the faculty lens.
- Perform needs analysis, conduct research, and develop faculty training offerings, serving as the Subject Matter Expert, including self-paced courses, webinars, and additional training materials.
- Lead project teams and serve as a team member to identify and help diagnose challenges for faculty then design and implement solutions to ensure project team members and deliverables align with and meet timelines.
- Use video editing, graphic design, survey software and additional technical and multimedia tools to build within and outside of Learning Management Systems.
- Present content of webinars for faculty based on needs analyses.
- Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of trainings, identify additional training opportunities, and develop learning solutions.
- Create, field, maintain, and analyze data to understand better the faculty experience, partnering with our internal and external data teams.
- Provide demonstrations and trainings for online academics and other partners.
- Build new offerings that further develop our culture to cultivate an engaged, empowered, diverse faculty pool.
- Collaborate to implement improvements in processes to increase faculty success and satisfaction.
- Conduct annual review of and updates to training materials, including the
IACET Self Audit Checklistto check for alignment with each standard of the application, to identify areas out of compliance, and to create a plan to return to compliance.
- Ensure that specialized projects and the daily workflow are organized, prioritized, and completed within prescribed time frames.
- Other responsibilities or activities may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
What we're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- 2+ years of experience with web-based content management systems such as Salesforce and Sharepoint.
- Knowledge of HTML basics and online e-learning platforms (LMS), such as Brightspace.
- Experience with needs assessment tools, analyzing data, and presenting findings.
- Comfortability working with several team members both one-on-one and in a team environment.
- Experience working in an independent nature and balancing multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training/education in teaching, learning pedagogy and instructional technology.
- Familiarity with Articulate, Camtasia, YouTube, Powtoons, Canva, Snagit.
- Experience in higher education or similar training environment.
- Technical writing skills.
- Master's degree.
