Who we're looking for
We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to be part of a mission critical team, building Demand Planning applications that are essential to Nike’s end-to-end Planning and Supply Chain strategy
The Lead Software Engineer serves as a technical guide for the software engineering team
What you'll do
You will support key platforms across Demand Planning providing functionality to sense, forecast, and shape demand. The squads you lead will own both full stack applications and packaged solutions such as O9 to deliver value to our partners. You will build data centric user experiences, cloud based distributed systems in AWS, microservices, data pipelines, and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
(Role open to work in Beaverton, OR, Bay Area, CA, or Atlanta, GA)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant subject area, or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
- 8+ years software development experience, 3+ years leading mixed team composed of data and application engineers
- Highly experienced in building, deploying, testing and rollout COTS Planning solutions such as APO, o9, BlueYonder, etc.
- Designing and implementing highly scalable cloud-based applications from end-to-end, from infrastructure to the frontend, using modern architecture and practices
- Intellectually curious, open-minded, and enjoy working in a constantly evolving environment
- Effective at building strong, influential relationships with colleagues and partners, with proven success in delivering impactful insights to leadership, and inspire change using DevOps practices
- Passionate about coaching and mentoring software developers to deliver timely, high-quality software with a solid understanding of Scrum and Agile principles
- Experience working in AWS environment primarily EMR, S3, SNS, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda, ELB, Postgres and Dynamodb
- Exposure to GraphQL API implementations
- Experience working with NoSQL data stores like DynamoDB
- Experience working with relational data stores like MySQL and Oracle
- Experience with monitoring and tracing tools like Splunk, SignalFx, or New Relic
- Experience with continuous integration (CI), unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests (continuous delivery (CD) experience is preferred)
- Comfortable working with globally distributed and diverse teams
