POSITION SUMMARY

The Alterra Advanced Purchase Platform team is looking for a talented Technical Analyst who has experience in APIs, Identity, Payment Processing, and web / backend applications and integrations. We are seeking a detail-oriented, systematic thinker with experience translating complex business needs into clear development stories following Agile methodologies. You will be an integral contributor to the end-to-end technical planning, execution, and delivery of assigned projects for the team. You will need to be forward thinking, creative and able to dig into data to help drive our business decisions to be successful.

This position will work closely with multiple members of the Digital Solutions department, including engineering, product, and QA, and will interact with various partners and stakeholders during requirements analysis and design. This role will help keep our engineering team moving forward with a well-developed backlog, delivering key capabilities for our Advance Purchase Platform, which drives the Destination Advanced Purchase product sales. Additionally, this position will share in the responsibilities for facilitating our recurring Scrum activities, such as daily standups and sprint planning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

General Responsibilities
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements and create user stories for the development backlog
  • Establish clear and discrete acceptance criteria based on requirements gathering and technical research and experience
  • Work with development team to answer questions about and clarify use cases, requirements, and acceptance criteria
  • Work with the product team to determine product roadmap, sprint goals, and priority.
  • Work with other teams across digital, data, and infrastructure to ensure maintain alignment and address dependencies.
  • Apply knowledge of our business, our products, and our technologies to make recommendations for feature enhancements, performance tuning, and automation.
  • Routinely groom the backlog to maintain continuous development cycle
  • Participate in release management and CI/CD, validating functionality and acceptance criteria
  • Work with teams to remove impediments, manage dependencies, and resolves conflicts to ensure successful sprint execution
  • Help develop, define, and document processes, along with the supporting organizational enablement / training
  • Leverage technical skills to query databases, test & design API requirements, and perform ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

Additional responsibilities:
  • Track and communicate team progress, identify blockers and risk, agile metrics (such as team velocity, burn down), champion agile/scrum and relentless improvement.
  • Assist with coordinating release and delivery cycle, ensuring dates and deliverables are communicated and on track
  • Assist with facilitating a self-organizing Scrum team to align on sprint goals and ensure consistent and successful execution
  • Support creation of product roadmaps and feature prioritization through process design and tooling
  • Organize and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, release planning, daily triage, and other Agile activities
  • Demonstrate pro-active problem resolution abilities, demonstrate ability to be a problem solver
  • Identify project risks and provide appropriate process and procedures to mitigate those risks

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years gathering requirements, developing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • 3+ years as a technical analyst, business analyst or product owner role
  • 3+ years in Scrum management and Agile Methodologies
  • 3+ years in technology and software development
  • Proven ability to communicate and document requirements for execution by the Development team, include story definition and acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental technologies and design patterns, such as databases, application integration, and service-oriented architectures
  • Experience working with standard technology productivity tools, such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Experience applying Agile and other development methodologies pragmatically to fit the specific team & project need, including knowledge of scrum theory, rules, and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • SDLC knowledge including requirements, design, implementation, development, system and integration testing, user acceptance testing, documentation, and training.
  • Experience in project scheduling, estimating, forecasting
  • Domain knowledge of hospitality, travel, and leisure industries.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 3+ years Product Management / Analyst or equivalent experience

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.'s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $63,000 - $95,000 per year
