With a vision to prepare special education students to meet the academic, social and emotional challenges encountered in everyday life and prepare them for a successful transition to middle, high school and post-secondary opportunities, Pepin Academies uniquely positioned to serve those most in need.

With three campuses throughout the Tampa Bay area, Pepin Academies is a full-time ESE school offering standard diploma options for students with learning and learning related disabilities in grades 3-12.

We offer a nurturing atmosphere that focuses on improving academics and social achievement. For students who qualify, therapy is provided, at no cost, with access to social workers, mental health counselors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, sensory integration, and speech language programs.

Paraprofessional (ESE) - Tampa Campus -Previous ESE Experience Preferred

This employee is responsible for assisting the teacher(s) in organizing and implementing an instructional, academic program. The Paraprofessional, ESE, duties are performed under the direction of the teacher and supervised by the administration.

Responsibilities:

• Adheres to the daily schedule and assignments
• Assists teacher in implementing the instructional programs of Pepin Academies
• Prepares and organizes instructional materials as directed by the teacher
• Follows teachers lesson plans and provides supervision in the absence of the teacher
• Maintains and assists with student records as directed by the teacher
• Provides for the care, well-being, and supervision of students with learning disabilities as directed by the teacher
• Establishes and maintains positive, professional communication among students, staff, and parents, as applicable, per the direction of the instructor as directed by the teacher
• Assists with the implementation of the classroom management system as directed by the teacher
• Implements instructional activities such as reading out loud, small group subject lessons, art activities, music activities, PE, etc. as directed by the teacher.
• Performs light custodial duties that relate to the safety and hygiene in the classroom and other environments accessed by the student as directed by the teacher.
• Supervises student behavior using positive behavior supports and interventions in the classroom, lunchroom, on school grounds, and at off-campus activities as directed by the teacher.
• Participates in parent involvement activities that may include conferences as directed by the teacher.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Ability to relate to students with disabilities
• Must take and complete Para Pro test for ESE Paraprofessional
