Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in library science (or related field) and/or master’s degree in library science or information Studies. Licensure or certification, strongly desirable
• Relevant work experience as Librarian or research facility assistant
• Knowledge of library organization, materials, services, policies, and procedures.
• 3 - 5 years of experience (preferred)
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy skills
• Preferably bilingual

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service for library users.
• Provide suggestions to library users about new readings or resources available.
• Assist library users to identify and login to online research platforms/databases.
• Keep a budget to repair, replace or get new reading materials.
• Coordinate tasks, as needed, to maintain a productive area environment.
• Catalog new inventory and update the library catalog accordingly.
• Develop fun and educational programs for the school community.
• Research new reading trends and popular genres to add to the library.
• Order new inventory from book supply companies
• Coordinate events that promote reading and the use of the library
• Design new strategies to attract the use of its space and resources.

Personnel supervisory responsibility

• Assist with the recruitment and supervision of library aides and volunteers.
• Help with the enforcement of all school and library policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $23,000.00 - $28,000.00 per year
