Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. About our Program: Therapeutic Behavioral Services supports children and youth up to 21 who are at risk to move to a higher level of care and/or be hospitalized because of their behavioral issues or to support a transition to a lower level of care. Multiple hours of treatment per week can be provided as needed to stabilize targeted behaviors. This treatment is a coaching model that always includes the caregiver.

The Position: Clinician II

Job Summary

Works within the values and clinical philosophy of the agency. Under the general supervision, provides comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, risk assessment, clinical interventions, case management, coordination of therapeutic activities, and educational programs. Leads and facilitates cross-functional teams, facilitates group supervision and supports other social workers. Responsible for the completion and maintenance of clinical and administrative documentation. Assists with the implementation of Evidence Based Practices (EBPs) across the program. Participates in agency work groups in support of annual priorities and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

Essential Duties

  • Demonstrates mastery of the Clinician I job description.
  • Applies advanced use of assessment information in development of the treatment plan and applies information and resources to ensure quality care.
  • Applies advanced skill in acquisition and application of clinically related information to effectively intervene with children and families.
  • Understands and applies multi-modal approaches and perspectives to therapeutic direction.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring of others in the implementation of Evidence Based Practices (EBPs).
  • Leads problem solving interaction and work with external customers.
  • Maintains audit ready charts and audits charts independently.
  • Provides observations and feedback to supervisor in order to monitor and/or modify programs or approaches.
  • Actively participates in the identification of team opportunities for improvement or identification of deficiencies and in the development of strategies to address or bridge gaps.
  • Leads Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities and project implementation. Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Employee is required to meet applicable productivity and documentation requirements
  • Driving to appointments with clients and their families or other key contacts
  • Physical interactions with children of variable ages such as, but not limited to, games, sports and other activities

Education Requirements

  • Master's Degree (MA/ MS) in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling or related field required.

Experience Requirements

  • Three (3) years supervised clinical experience with children required.
  • Strong leadership and crisis management skills required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years clinical experience with children.
  • Experience with Wraparound plans and development of Individual Client and Family Plan (ICFPs).
  • Crisis management experience.
  • Training in domestic violence, physical/sexual child abuse, and suicidal trauma with the competency to maintain current knowledge related to state, county, and local law.
  • Self-defense training to react/respond to harmful and violent physical situations.

Other Specific Requirements

  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance, if applicable.
  • Valid California Driver's license with two years’ experience driving and clean driving record may be required.
  • If program requires, employee must pass an initial physical abilities test (PATS) and be certified in crisis intervention techniques within the first 30 days and annually.

Work Environment/Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

In addition, this position requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing, and kneeling.
