This position will have a hybrid work environment and be able to work remote several days per week and office at the Tamarack Materials location in Bloomington, MN the remaining work days.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Talent Acquisition Partner will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle recruiting process for Tamarack Materials, Inc. which covers six states including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Illinois. The Talent Acquisition Partner will focus on recruiting frontline talent, such as CDL drivers and delivery helpers. The Talent Acquisition Partner will evaluate current talent needs, identify areas of opportunity, develop competitive recruiting strategies and partnerships, and execute new recruitment tactics. Through an effective use of resources and a passionate disposition for recruiting, the Talent Acquisition Partner has the opportunity to establish best practices that can be implemented and utilized through the entire Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proactively Builds Talent Acquisition Resources

  • Develops innovative recruiting strategies to find and attract talent
  • Develops a diverse talent pool through creative sourcing techniques including referral generation, networking, and direct sourcing
  • Conducts research to identify and execute the most effective marketing efforts
  • Enhances online social media presence, both locally and regionally
  • Establishes strong relationships with local academic institutions, professional programs, military organizations, etc.
  • Attends, actively participates, and engages with prospective candidates at job fairs and local networking events
  • Improves and promotes the employee referral program and other incentive programs, where applicable

Selects and Hires Top Talent

  • Reviews applications that come through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and actively sources for candidates
  • Determines applicant qualifications by effectively screening candidates and assessing credentials against the appropriate criteria
  • Develops and utilizes robust selection techniques to determine the best fit for the role and the company
  • Partners with Hiring Managers to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and communicated to candidates
  • Effectively utilizes market data and industry knowledge to coach Hiring Managers on making competitive offers

Develops & Maintains Strong Relationships

  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality
  • Serves as a trusted business partner and consultant to Hiring Managers leveraging knowledge/expertise to provide input on the market, candidates, etc.
  • Acquires an in-depth understanding of the business by traveling to yards and job sites, while making in-person connections with current employees and managers
  • Develops strong relationships with Local HR and the broader GMS HR team
  • Builds and maintains effective networks with reliable sources

  • Ability to use and manage an ATS and/or other technologies
  • Strong communication, follow up, and presentation skills
  • Ability to operate independently with and without direction
  • Ability to proactively problem solve and anticipate next steps

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licensing/Experience Requirements:

  • HS diploma required
  • Two (2) or four (4)-year degree preferred
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in full-life cycle recruiting preferred
  • Experience recruiting for distribution, manufacturing or other industry related roles preferred
  • Experience working with management at various levels
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be willing to travel 25-50%
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25-50%
  • Must be able to operate basic office equipment
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move recruiting materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally working in an office environment
