The Systems Administrator is responsible for the support and maintenance of our enterprise Infrastructure related tasks. This strategic, data-driven role is responsible for implementing and maintaining all IT infrastructure systems for on-premises workloads as well as workloads in the Cloud, outside of networking. The Systems Administrator will work closely with technology support teams and application teams to build, manage, and optimize Infrastructure solutions to improve application resilience and infrastructure availability. Overall, the System Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining the reliability and security of the infrastructure systems at the Bank.
This position will work in-office during an initial training period. Once the training period is successfully completed, this position, at manager’s discretion, is eligible for telecommuting and remote work, subject to Woodforest’s Telecommuting and Remote Work Policy. For in-office and telecommuting requirements, WNB (Woodforest National Bank) offices are located in The Woodlands, TX.
Remote work shall only be performed from states/areas in which WNB has an established footprint. These states are Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:
- Stays apprised of emerging best practices, technologies and implements them when applicable.
- Collaborates with other technology teams across the enterprise, i.e., application, database, server, storage, network, security, NOC, etc. to implement automation where needed.
- Ensures stable performance through continuous performance tuning and alerting.
- Participates and leads the troubleshooting effort during incidents.
- Ensures backup and restores are being performed as needed.
Competencies Required:
- Strong experience strong PowerShell or other language scripting skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills surrounding server operating systems.
- Possess skills in utilizing monitoring tools; knowledge of standards, and processes including Infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Must possess practical knowledge of transaction processing, application development, systems administration, and web infrastructure (web services, trend analysis, etc.).
- Must have proven understanding of underlying technologies - i.e., operating systems (UNIX, Linux, and Windows), networks, and databases.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes.
- Ability to work with technical architecture and implementation teams.
- In-depth understanding of Virtual Server technologies (Vmware, Hyper-V, etc.).
- A holistic understanding of a broad-ranged hardware ecosystem.
- Ability to work remote.

- 5+ years’ experience working in an enterprise technology environment with direct responsibility of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure management required.

- Technology certification preferred.
