ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Teaches district-approved curriculum; prepares lesson plans accordingly.
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs and interests of all students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and work ethic when working on special projects.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and -in harmony with the goals-establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
- Ensures accuracy and best practices for compliance with organizational standards.
- Keeps records and prepares progress reports electronically.
- Keeps current in discipline and teaching techniques.
- Participates in professional development and remains current in the field.
- Any other relative teaching duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the classroom, students and teaching assistants.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - Experience and education in the area of environmental science and technology as required by the MA DESE Chapter 74 licensure requirements
- Experience in urban education (preferred)
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Chapter 74 licensure in Environmental Science and Technology is required, or the ability to acquire the licensure.
