Surgical Tech in the Operating Room at Oro Valley Hospital , assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed and assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater.

Position Purpose
Assists in the care of the surgical patient by performing surgical tech duties and related activities for surgical procedures. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.

Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Education: "Required: Completion of accredited Surgical Technician program
-OR- 2 years of on-the-job training
-OR- 7 years of experience working in the field
-OR- Military training program with 2 years surgical tech experience"

Licenses/Certifications: "Required: BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) "
