We're looking for someone to join our team as a Surgical Technician who:
Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.
Essential Functions:

• Prepares for each surgical case by accurately checking required supplies and equipment prior to case. Assembles appropriate supplies/equipment prior to operative procedures. Reviews equipment inventory for specialty as assigned. Sets up operative instrumentation/sterile field for expedient retrieval/utilization. Collects data on assigned surgical cases by the unit based Performance Standards of Care. Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary. Performs housekeeping duties as requested.
• Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities. Provides clerical duties.
• Completes instrument, sponge, needle and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards.
• Sets up/maintains neat and orderly sterile field demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique. Labels solutions according to established standards.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:Education:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Work Experience:

• Scrub technician experience: Preferred
• Operating room experience and/or training course: Preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Surgery Technician certification: Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification: Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred

At Adventist Health Glendale, our eight ORs offer surgical services for a wide range of specialties, including breast, cardiac/open heart , ear/nose/ throat (ENT), general gynecologic, neurologic, orthopedic, plastic, prostate, podiatric, thoracic, gastrointestinal, urologic and vascular surgery, as well as pain management . Our state-of-the-art equipment and instruments, including the da Vinci Surgical system, and skilled surgeons and staff allow us to perform advanced inpatient and outpatient procedures, including brain biopsies, cranial tumor surgery, aneurysm repair and more.Adventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.The estimated base pay for this position is $28.45 to $42.63. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through years of experience, differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
