Job description
Summary:Schedule all outpatient/inpatient surgeries.
Inform patients of pre-op instructions, medical clearance and test requirements.
Submit all prior authorizations for scheduled surgeries and advanced imaging orders.
Obtain all required medical clearance documents and supply to the surgical center all necessary forms within the timeline guidelines of the facility.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for scheduling all outpatient and inpatient surgeries for 6 clinicians.
- Acts as the key contact person within the department for surgical scheduling and coordinating post-surgical admissions.
- Process prior authorizations for all scheduled surgeries and advanced imaging orders.
- Obtain all required medical clearance documents and supply to the surgical center all necessary forms within the timeline guidelines of the facility.
- Support front desk at various locations, when necessary.
Knowledge of surgical scheduling functions and submission of insurance prior authorizations.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Computer user proficiency.
Clear communication skills.
Professional phone demeanor.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
