Work schedule: •Tour of Duty: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute lunch break, Monday through Friday•Forty (40) hours per week•Call-Back Hours and Overtime Hours after 3:30 pm•Weeknight On-Call Hours: 15.5 Hours per night, 3:30 pm to 7:00 am, Monday through Friday•Weekend On-Call Hours: Twenty-four (24) Hours a day.Performance

Requirements:

The Candidate shall provide outpatient and inpatient, Surgery Physician services in the delivery of patient care to the Indian Health Service. Specific tasks include the following:•Perform outpatient and inpatient, surgery duties and manage patient's needs.•Provide outpatient and inpatient professional general surgery physician medical services or direct patient care services.•Serve as a staff surgeon and surgical consultant. Examines, diagnoses, and treats by surgical means diseases and injuries. Performs major surgical operations including such operations as gastro colostomy.


Qualification Requirements:
  • Assume responsibility for the diagnosis, prevention therapy, maintenance and rehabilitation of
patients by performing interviews and examines each patient, reviesw past medical history and
requests or performs diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible
information related to each case.
  • Visit the surgery ward to ensure that patients are receiving the proper medical care; reviews clinical
records to develop an opinion of the effectiveness of the attending medical officer and to ensure that
records are properly maintained.
  • Provide consultation on difficult cases to practitioners in the same or other specialties and provide
consultation and teaching to medical practitioners on the most complex patients.
  • Work closely with allied health professionals (i.e., Community Health Nurse, Social Workers, Health
Educator, etc.) to utilize and coordinate the services of other Health Care Professionals in the
management of the patient's medical, psychological and social problems.
  • Provide appropriate documentation on rendered patient care utilizing CCHCF's EHR system.
  • Being responsible for utilizing the CCHCF EHR system to obtain, dictate, electronically enters and
assures preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation
and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care.
  • Shall familiar with the cultural, social, political, geographic, demographic, economic, and
epidemiological characteristic of the patients and the communities served.
  • Training/Experience: The candidate shall Have completed five (5) years of General Surgery
Residency Training with a minimum of six (6) months experience in the specialty required by the
contract, unless otherwise approved by the CCHCF's Credentials Committee.
  • Certification/License/Registration: The candidate shall be board certified or board eligible with
the American Board of General Surgery, and shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted appropriate
license in any state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of
the United States,
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License: The candidate shall maintain a valid,
current, full and unrestricted DEA license with schedule types II through V and maintain
certification throughout the term of the contract.
  • The candidate shall maintain a valid and current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR),
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life
Support (ATLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications and are mandatory for
General Surgery.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License: the candidate shall possess a valid state driver's license
throughout the term of this contract.
