job summary:

A Supply Management Specialist is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Waterloo, IA area. This position coordinates and leads efforts to address chronic supplier performance issues.

responsibilities:

• This role will manage and implement urgent supplier resourcing projects related to capacity to ensure consistent supply to Waterloo.
• This role will also support day to day activities related to protoype requests and/or spot buys to support production needs.
• SMS will work closely with the ETEC team in India and RX Cost Lead to generate & review cost reduction ideas and provide timely feedback.
• SMS will ensure accurate direct material forecast in the My Projects system for their respective commodity.
• SMS will work cross functionally to vet cost reduction ideas for their respective commodity, ensuring a project plan is created and planning milestones are completed on-time.

Skills:

• Self-starter with the ability to analyze data and lead the way through complex problems.
• strong interest in initiating and developing new relationships with suppliers and peer functional groups.
• Demonstrated communication skills.
• SAP Experience.
• Experience working with suppliers.

Education: BA in business or another related SM field.
