Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the sample receiving/glassware preparation area of the laboratory.
• Supervise technicians assigned to the sample receiving/glassware preparation area, including prioritizing, delegating and reviewing work.
• Review sample receiving reports and notify lab management of sampling and/or receiving issues.
• Oversee and maintain the QA/QC associated with area.
• Ensure drinking water quality samples meet acceptance criteria upon receipt at the lab.
• Assist project managers with sample sets for projects as needed.
• Perform continuing training of the technicians.
• Order and track supplies needed for area.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in science or related field required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5 years experience supervising sample receiving in a lab setting required.
• Extensive knowledge of drinking water laboratory operations, regulations, and sampling requirements.
• Some knowledge of federal and state drinking water quality regulations, and water system regulations and operations preferred.
• Leadership, supervisory, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
