The opportunity:

The Supervisor, Application Development leads a team whose responsibility is to develop complex data extracts, applications, and ad-hoc queries as requested by internal and external customers using SQL, SSIS, Informatica, and Microsoft technologies. In this role you will lead a team to resolve production issues, fix root causes and coordinate project and support assignments to assure team activities meet business objectives and project requirements within scheduled timeframes and SLA’s. Maintain a general knowledge of company-wide processes and sub-systems. Participate in new/enhanced system functionality designs, development, and implementations. Encourage team to achieve departmental and company goals. Actively looks for ways to improve overall team productivity and personal development.

How you will contribute:

• Oversee, plan, and coordinate the timely and quality delivery of projects and support activities for a team of application developers.

• Supervise staff's daily work assignments and projects to ensure tasks remain on time, resources are used effectively. Strictly follows the application SDLC methodology.

• Provide technical support and participate in solving business problems.

• Assist in the development of various applications and data extracts.

• Manage risks and prepare regular management status reports as required

• Ensure processes such as walkthroughs and signoffs occur as required and are also properly documented

• Manage and maintain application environments

• Work with business partners to triage, analyze and resolve production support issues

• Participate in new/enhanced system functionality designs, development, and implementations

• Ensure strict adherence to department practices, procedures, and security policies

• Maintain a plan of improvement opportunities and regularly implement them

• Routinely audit processes for adherence and opportunities for improvement

• Measure and track key performance indicators and plan/deliver initiatives to improve team performance

• Develop staff by providing technical and administrative direction.

• May oversee the work of contractors in addition to full time staff

• Other duties as needed or required

What you will bring with you:

• Required:

• 5+ years of experience in application development showing increasing levels of responsibility

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent experience

• Application development skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of object-oriented development in a complex environment

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Development Tools and Methodologies

  • Expert in Relational Databases applications, Structured Query Language (SQL) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).

  • Expert in ETL processes

  • Proficient in use of Standard Development Tools and Methodologies

  • Expert level development in EDI, with a significant focus on dental encounters, claims and enrollment

• Demonstrated business skills

  • Ability to analyze complex data and inputs to reach sound decisions quickly

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

  • Perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, co-workers, and senior management

  • Process-oriented; Attentive to details and anticipating challenges.

• Leadership skills

  • Ability to think strategically and tactically

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and mentor subordinates in a fast paced and complex environment

• Southern region: $98,800 - $148,200 annually

• Central region: $104,200 - $156,300 annually

• Northern region: $111,400 - $167,00 annually

If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $94,300 - $141,400 annually.

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $111,400 - $167,00 annually.

If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $104,200 - $156,300 annually.

If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is [Full Range Minimum – Full Range Maximum] annually.
