Job Title: Summer Sports Camp Director

June - Aug 2023 (Temporary/Seasonal)

Camp Site Location: Darien, CT

Overtime Athletics is a year-round youth athletic programming company. We specialize in elementary age activities including after school programs and summer camps. Our Summer Sports Camps focus on giving families a fun, organized, instructional and affordable sports camp experience. Camps are recreational sports minded, with no emphasis on scores, records or “elite level” development. OTA Sports Camps allow campers who want to play regardless of skill level, ability or experience the chance to do so. Everyone plays at OTA! Our Sports Coaches use our proven camp curriculum to provide campers a fun experience continuing to play the sports they know or learn a new one!

Position Summary:

The Sports Camp Director is in charge of the supervision of campers aged 5-12 and camp counselor staff in all daily activities and operations. Manages customer service needs with campers & parents, creates & plans daily camp activity agenda and oversees to ensure a quality camp experience. Demonstrates Overtime Athletics’ commitment to its core values of respect, responsibility, and caring in all actions to serve as a role model.

OTA offers outdoor half day sports camps such as multi-sports, flag football, basketball, etc. in Darien, CT, Fairfield, CT, Stamford, CT. Camps are held outside rain/shine. Camp will have between 10-50 campers per week.

Camp Schedule:

• June 19th - June 23rd
• June 26th - June 30th
• July 3rd - July 7th (No Camp on July 4th)
• July 10th - July 14th
• July 17th - July 21st
• July 24th - July 28th
• July 31st - Aug 4th
• Aug 7th - Aug 11th
• Aug 14th - Aug 18th

Camp Locations: Darien, CT, Fairfield, CT, Stamford, CT

Camp Hours: 9am-12pm | Paid Hours are 8:30am – 12:30pm. 30min to provide daily camp set up, and post camp dismissal needs, and camp site clean-up.

Weekly Hours: 20 (4hrs each day)

Essential Job Functions:

Manage camp rosters and attendance on a weekly and daily basis

Coordinate, lead and manage camp counselor staff in all aspects: reviewing and communicating daily camp activity agendas, assisting staff throughout camp day with any camper behavior issues, and overseeing all staff’s ability to handle or supervise campers.

Listen and solve parent and camper issues

Implement Overtime Athletics Summer Camp Curriculum and create daily/weekly agendas

Physically leading camp activity segments, games and segments for groups or entire camp audience

Job Requirements:

Highly energetic leader

Organized

Strong communication skills with adults and children

Solutions-oriented

Ability to create and execute a plan

Athletically inclined

Must attend & complete mandatory camp training (unpaid)

Required Experience:

1+ years’ experience coaching youth sports

1+ years’ experience in sports, or summer camp or similar youth program setting

Experience supervising others

CPR & First Aid Certified or willing to complete prior to working

Position Pay:

$25 - $30 per hour (based on experience)

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
