Background on Southbridge Public Schools:
Southbridge Public Schools serve approximately 2,200 students in six schools. The district is presently undergoing extensive turnaround at all levels, with the assistance of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. One example is a long-term partnership with the University of Connecticut to develop Southbridge Schools to be a national demonstration site for successful implementation of PBIS strategies. Reports To: Summer Academy's Director
Dates of Employment: July 5, 2023-August 4, 2023 *** Some preparation time in June 2023 possible
Staff Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-1:30pm
Requirements/Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years successful teaching experience preferred/not required
- Instructional experience at the school site preferred
- Strong project management and coordination skills
- Experience with PBIS
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with District Directors to help develop and implement a recruitment process
- Report to District Teaching, Learning and Talent Development
- Monitor ongoing recruitment and attendance for site.
- Program supervision, day to day operations including attendance,
- Order, tracking and collection of materials, program staff supervision, leading communication with site based staff, dismissal/parent pickup, program planning, implementation, and observation, oversight of student behavior management and parent/guardian contact regarding behavior and attendance policies.
- Collaborate with District Directors to ensure that staff receive coaching to implement programming and confirm that academic support and behavior is managed according to district priorities for summer programming.
- Assess and evaluate student achievement via pre/post testing and performance-based assessments.
- Collaborate with District Directors to complete all required student academic progress data and submit to District Directors in a timely manner in accordance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with school administration and keep them informed of program guidelines and implementation.
- Support staff in family engagement and their efforts to facilitate educational opportunities to increase literacy and related educational development.
- Manage and perform other tasks as related to the goals and objectives of the Summer Academy program.
- Ensure programs maintain district and school health and safety protocols from program start to end.
Salary: $50.00 per hour
