Learning Success Coach


Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Director of Online Programming, the Learning Success Coach serves as the main point of contact for an assigned group of students to guide them to achieve academic success. The Learning Success Coach will onboard, counsel, motivate, and advise in order to help all students meet their educational goals. Responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with assigned students, their families and other stakeholders in an effort to support student success, retention and academic progression.


Duties:

  • Directly support an assigned group of students from enrollment through school year in a coaching role.
  • Conduct student onboarding and student orientation once the initial enrollment process is completed for all online students. Serve as a main main point of contact for K-8 students.
  • Develop AZACS Learning Coach University in collaboration with school counselor and ABA Manager
  • Hold LIVE virtual morning/afternoon meetings with small student groups weekly.
  • Collaborates and supports the work of the Online School Counselor, ABA Manager and Online Teaching Team.
  • Works with ABA Manager to ensure students have behavioral support for online success..
  • Provide individualized support to students based on IEP and identified risk factors including academic, social-emotional, and other potential issues, and help to develop individual plans for success.
  • Counsel and advise students by phone, email, text and other available online technologies.
  • Closely track students’ progress, through communication and analytics to ensure class attendance and academic progress. Collaborate and provide communication with students, families and instructors.
  • Conduct progress sessions with students and their families a minimum of quarterly, with communication and progress reports sent weekly and monthly.
  • Work with students to ensure a solid academic plan and ensure continued enrollment.
  • Work with school staff and parents to conduct virtual information sessions, open houses, and other community events, as assigned.
  • Resolve problems by clarifying issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implement solutions; escalate unresolved problems. Follow up to ensure resolution of each issue.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and services, across the school to understand processes, systems, and services and to resolve student issues.
  • Facilitates digital portfolios with students and teachers.
  • Liaison between student, teacher, and family.
  • Participate in school meetings, training and committees, as scheduled.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, or equivalent;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching, academic coaching, social-emotional counseling, and/or college-going support for students
  • Experience working with students on the spectrum and other disabilities
  • Knowledge or experience with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis)
  • Experience with diverse technologies and online learning highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills. Bilingual, a plus.
  • Proficiency with the Google suite of applications
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.


Physical Requirements:

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible.
