Purpose:

The Worley Community is looking to add a Structural Designer II to join our team in delivering offshore solutions and services in the Gulf of Mexico. Our diverse portfolio of projects encompasses the whole cycle of offshore brownfield projects from planning/conceptual design, to detailed design, construction, and operation.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the structural design of brownfield projects with the support of a team of seasoned designers.

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare structural design 2D drawings and 3D models based on engineering information, site data and customer requirements. Examples include:

o Structural general arrangements

o Structural pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, buildings and equipment support, deck extensions, lift arrangements, etc

o Prepare structural Material Take-offs

o Provide technical support to the project team

  • Identify fit up challenges, recognizes pros/cons to solutions, and follows industry and client safety specifications
  • Coordinate with structural engineering team and gather information from other disciplines
  • Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, considers constructability, operability, and maintainability into design
  • Other responsibilities include preparing as-built drawings, design and detailing new components
  • Work with Global integrated team (GID)
  • Perform Laser Scan clash checks
  • Perform installation sequencing (PDMS/E3D)

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Create 3D model to:

o Client Specifications

o Ensure objects are placed in correct hierarchy

o Ensure all attributes are set

o Complete Modeling Checklists

o Run Clash Check and resolve all clashes before submitting check prints

o Run MTO/Weight reports for Structures in an area

  • Develop 2D Drawings

o Develop all necessary drawings details to ensure complete fabrication

o Complete Checklists

o Ensure drawings incorporate all engineering review comments

o Ensure drawings incorporate all Client review comments

o Ensure all drawing attributes are set


  • Working knowledge of PDMS/E3D,and AutoCAD – Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • CADWorx and Laser scan experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with other designers and engineers to achieve optimal drawing product
  • Successful candidates will be self-starters with an aptitude for problem solving and innovation and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. You must be capable of working with a team within project
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Able to participate in offshore site visits, obtain a TWIC card, pass HUET, and wear PPE.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • An associate’s degree in design and drafting or equivalent

Preferred:


  • Knowledge and experience in modeling and drafting of steel structures.
