Structural Analysis Engineer - Mobile Equipment
Job description
RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking a growth oriented individual to work in our Engineering Center in Eden Prairie, MN. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to use a variety of simulation tools to perform static and dynamic structural, fluid dynamic, and heat transfer analyses of off-highway equipment sub-systems.
Job Description
- Work in a team environment to complete the variety of analysis problems presented to the team using the array of analysis tools in our toolbox.
- Provide engineering analysis support using Ansys and/or NX Nastran to perform modal, linear, non-linear static, dynamic analyses in the design and development of structures.
- Provide engineering analysis support using Ansys Fluent/CFX to perform fluid dynamics and heat transfer analyeses.
- Write clear, detailed analysis plans, final reports, and other validation documentation.
- Provide design engineering team with accurate design recommendations of corrective action.
- Use nCode, Glyphworks, and DesignLife to study fatigue and analyze test data.
- Work with test engineers as required to develop efficient testing plans.
- Perform after-test correlation with FE models to improve analysis methodology.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering degree.
- Hands on experience with agricultural or construction equipment and a strong mechanical aptitude desired.
- Candidate must demonstrate independent problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate effectively with team members, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience with 3D solid modeling software, ideally CREO or Solidworks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software.
- High performing entry level candidates and candidates 3+ years experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with FEA simulation and correlation of fabricated steel and cast structural components and systems.
- Ability to interpret analysis results based on modeling technique and material fatigue characteristics.
- Ability to correlate FEA with field data and provide design suggestions for cost effective improvements.
- Experience with NX-Nastran and/or ANSYS.
- Experience with Ansys Fluent or other CFD software.
- Experience with non-linear conditions.
