Role Summary:This role is a key contributor to the Enterprise Strategy Team, driving strategy development and planning across the various Cigna + Evernorth Growth Platforms. The role will focus on one of two key areas within the strategy function:
1) Enterprise Strategic Planning – engaging the broader strategy community across the organization, evaluating market insights, harmonizing the collective strategies into integrated strategic plans, coordinating executive and senior leader engagement, and propelling execution action across the Enterprise; and
2) Critical Cross-Enterprise Strategy Development - addressing complex, consequential analysis, recommendation, and decision support for the big questions and highest priority strategy decisions across the Enterprise.
The Senior Advisor will be primarily focused on one area and secondarily supporting the other.
Responsibilities:
This position supports and leads the development and planning of business strategies across the enterprise and is a key contributor throughout the process.
“Top of the House” Strategy Design - Play a pivotal role in leading, defining, and communicating Cigna's enterprise strategy and guidance throughout the organization (e.g., enterprise strategy narrative, strategic priorities/points of differentiation, enterprise initiatives, scenario planning, etc.)
Strategy Community Coordination – Plays a key role in orienting the Strategy Partner Community to the consequential issues facing the enterprise and spearheading work around critical areas that require a coordinated path forward (e.g., strategies to articulate our future value creation/points of differentiation; "up" and "across" strategies that cut across the enterprise)
Enterprise Strategic Planning – Execute of the Annual Enterprise Strategy Process and influence the connection between the strategy, finance, and portfolio processes.
Strategy Development - Conduct strategic analyses, prepares business cases, and performs business intelligence research. Contributes to business growth by developing organic and inorganic growth strategy. Develops and drives strategic initiatives based on thought leadership of current trends and analysis relevant to the appropriate domain.
Internal Strategy Support - Develop strategies for businesses that are “underserved” in the organization and where future growth opportunities exist. Work collaboratively with business unit partners and corporate support teams to drive enterprise strategy execution, and partner on segment or functional strategy projects. Provide functional and industry expertise to support analysis and review of business development opportunities.
Research and Financial Modeling - Manages complex research and analyses to drive business case development for key strategic focus areas. Handles the financial modeling of potential strategic decisions across brand incubation, acquisitions, licensing, etc./ Develops strategic reports to highlight macro and consumer trends, key competitors and new entrants, compelling business models, disruptive/emerging technologies—and successfully translate these into comprehensive insights and implications for Cigna. Leads or participate in business model / opportunity financial assessment including business inputs to valuation models
Leadership Engagemen t – Proposes recommendations for Senior Leadership review and decision.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years' relevant experience; strategy consulting, private equity investment or investment banking background a plus
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s level degree highly preferred
Ability to present and develop presentations
Experience in enterprise strategic planning, preferably within the healthcare industry
Strong modeling capability and financial management skills.
Strong project management skills & strategic acumen
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Able to manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity
Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative group

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 104,300 - 173,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
