JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the coordination of stewardship and annual giving functions for the department.
MAJOR DUTIES
Coordinates stewardship program activities, including alumni cultivation and donor acknowledgement.
Maintains contact with donors and potential donors.
Manages communication efforts for Alumni Affairs and Development operations; manages social media; prepares e-newsletters; prepares annual reports.
Manages the annual giving campaign.
Manages the scholarship processes.
Maintains foundation accounts as related to scholarship guidelines and endowment levels.
Coordinates acknowledgement events and assists with other Alumni and Development events.
Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
Knowledge of database administration principles.
Knowledge of planned giving, financial planning, and charitable tax deductibility principles.
Knowledge of communication and marketing principles.
Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
Skill in oral and written communication.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Development Director assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include NSU Foundation policies and procedures, Internal Revenue Service regulations, and university policies. These guidelines require judgment, selection and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied duties in the coordination of stewardship and annual giving activities. The variety of tasks to be coordinated contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to coordinate stewardship and annual giving activities. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations.

Contacts are typically with co-workers, other university personnel, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
The work is typically performed in an office.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Annual salary $33,840.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
