STEM Coordinator/Seminar Teacher
Summary
Under general supervision, serves as a classroom teacher and creates a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with each student’s ability.
Required education, training, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree and certification in teaching with a demonstrated record of high quality STEM instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Essential duties and responsibilities
STEM Coordinator:
- Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of the school STEM program and initiatives.
- Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining the school’s STEM plan.
- Assists teachers with improving techniques of STEM instruction and improving overall student achievement; provides instructional strategies and various tools to aid the instructional process.
- Work to develop relationships with businesses to partner with the school on STEM related projects
- Be an ambassador for CASA within the community and to our 8th grade students.
Seminar Teacher:
- Teaches assigned seminar classes.
- Creates and maintains a graded curriculum for seminar classes that includes brief assignments covering study skills, organizational skills, and other soft skills needed for College and Career Readiness..
- Monitors student academic progress in their college classes.
- Communicate and collaborate with CASA and CCC&TI staff to provide additional support for students. Maintain ongoing communication with students to provide necessary support for their college classes.

- Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical or professional languages including medical, legal, and counseling terminology.
