White Pine Middle School is searching for a teacher with a passion for middle school students and a belief in teaching the whole child. The teacher will be part of a team (Learning Community) for the core subjects (Language & Literature [English], Math, Science and Social Studies) that share the same students. Taking ownership of the students’ growth and adjusting as necessary to maximize learning is essential. This individual will have the ability and the will to teach all students, including those students who have unique challenges in learning and will strive to close the achievement gap for them.
Regular, in-person attendance is required.
This position is available to teachers with English (BA) or English Language Arts (BX) endorsement. Specific training to teach at the Middle School level is helpful. Additional endorsement(s) in Science (DI or DX), Social Studies (RX), or Mathematics (EX) helpful.
COMPENSATION : STEA Agreement, provides that the 2022-2023 compensation starts at $42,548 Bachelor's Degree (no previous teaching experience); $49,794 Master Degree, (no previous teaching experience). The parties' collective bargaining agreement has a wage re-opener for the 2023-2024 school year, and is through July 31, 2024. Standard employee benefits.
Pursuant to Public Act 68 of 1993 and Public Act 83 of 1995, selected new employees shall submit to fingerprints and a criminal background check at the employee's expense.
