SAS Programmer/Analyst

Remote Role

9 Plus Months Contract

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position (please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)?

• Support the design, development, testing, and deployment of data analytics programs and processes for supporting various operational data stores using SAS, Hadoop/Hive and Relational Databases.
• Collect, interpret, and aggregate data from traditional and non-traditional data sources for supporting programs and applications utilizing various data analytics purposes.
• Understand data requirements and business need to develop data tools such as dashboards and data visualizations using SAS and PowerBI.
• Use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data.
• Solves moderately complex problems and has ability to translate concepts into practice.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
• Recognize problems and make recommendations for solutions.
• Works under minimal guidance and within tight deadlines for deliverables.

What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background specific industry experience etc.)?
Health Care experience desired but not required.

What skills/attributes are required (please be detailed as to number of years of experience for each skill)?

• 5+years of experience as a programmer using SAS, SAS/Macros.
• 5+ years of data analysis experience - ability to work with large volumes of data, disparate relational database and familiarity with various database technologies.
• 5+ years of experience with developing/writing SQL queries.
• Ability to understand and support modern large-scale data pipelines to support data integration for reporting & analytics and machine learning features.
• Progressive work experience in a data analytics or related role.
• Demonstrated analytical, and business acumen.

What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)? Does this position require a professional license or certification?
Advance SAS programming certification preferred.
Experience in developing applications using Python preferred.
Big Data - Hadoop/Hive and Hadoop/Spark experience preferred.
Health Care experience preferred.

How would you prefer to interview? Business casuals, Video Phone Interview - 15 minute initial screening by hiring manager and 2nd comprehensive Interview round of 45 minutes to 1 hour by hiring manager and peers.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift

• Informatica: 1 year (Preferred)
• SQL: 1 year (Preferred)
• Data warehouse: 1 year (Preferred)
