Job Description
General Responsibilities:

As an Environmental Professional with Terracon, you will perform duties related to mold, asbestos, and/or lead inspections and management of abatement/remediation projects. You will also evaluate respective data, prepare proposals and reports, and take part in other environmental consulting projects. This position will require licensure with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation as a Mold Assessment Consultant. Licensure with the Texas Department of State Health Services as an Asbestos Inspector is preferred. This position may lead to licensure as an Individual Asbestos Consultant, and/or certification as a Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Mid-level, experienced scientific professional responsible for conducting site testing and making recommendations for systems design on medium sized projects with a variety of complexity.
• Participates with more senior scientists/engineers on large, more complex projects.
• Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
• Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
• Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projects including quality control review of proposals written by others.
• Evaluates complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.
• May serve as team member or lead in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
• May oversee work performed by lower-level scientists/engineers and Technicians.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 15 years’ related experience.
• TDLR and TDSHS licenses and certifications in the field of expertise is required.
• TDSHS Licensure as an Asbestos Consultant is a plus.
• TDSHS Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
