We have an opening for a Staff Ground Segment Systems Engineering Lead to join our talented, diverse team in Redondo Beach, CA.
What you’ll get to do?
The Ground Segment SEIT Lead leads the systems engineering and integration and test team in the campaign to refine requirements in support of the verification campaign, coordinate with customers to ensure alignment to contractually required product deliveries and documentation, influence the program’s roadmap planning, and provide systems engineering guidance to the teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 14+ years of engineering experience OR a Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12+ years of engineering experience OR a PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 9+ years of engineering experience
- Practical working experience with system architecture design, trade studies, and performance analysis and simulation
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
- Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
- Direct experience providing technical leadership, direction and mentoring to other technical employees to achieve practical end results
- Active DoD Top Secret with the ability to obtain SCI and Special Program Access
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess strong leadership qualities, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Agile development
- Working knowledge of satellite ground stations
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML), Cameo and concepts
- Direct experience with formally presenting technical solutions to senior leadership.
This position reports to El Segundo, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Dulles, VA, VA, USA.
