Tupelo Honey is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the buzz at our “Hive” team. The Staff Accountant will assist Controller with all phases of accounting, from journal entries and month-end close to fixed assets management and preparing various ad-hoc reports. The position will report to the Controller. We are looking for an accountant with a high degree of personal accountability and independence, as well as, eagerness to learn new skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform month-end closing activities: including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Fixed Asset responsibilities, including gathering supporting documentation, entry into accounting system, and recording depreciation.
• Assist with licensure and permitting process.
• Maintain credit card expenditure systems and review expense reports.
• Assist AP with vendor account maintenance and reconciliations.
• Support store management teams by addressing accounting inquiries.
• Assist with audit and tax compliance.
• Ad-hoc projects and reporting as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proficient in Excel.
• General ledger and accounting systems experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
