  Provide reliable bookkeeping and accounting to small businesses in Lancaster County

• Perform general bookkeeping – ledger entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable
• Generate accounting reports
• File sales tax
• Assist with payroll
• Meet with clients to collect information and review records
• Listen to client questions and strive to provide superior service by finding the best solution
• Participate in weekly staff meetings & stay connected to the team
• Assist with tax preparation during tax season (training provided)
• Assess the client's understanding of accounting principles and partner with them to better understand their business numbers through teaching, training, and careful explanation.

Brandt Accounting is growing and is looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to provide bookkeeping and accounting support for local businesses. Our Ideal Staff Accountant:

• Experienced: Accounting degree OR 5+ years experience as a bookkeeper/accountant. Experience with personal & business income tax preparation is a plus.
• Technology: 2+ years working in QuickBooks. Skilled in Excel. Able to quickly learn accounting software.
• Problem-Solver: Ability to think creatively to solve problems by digging into the numbers and/or using online resources to help find the answer. Takes the initiative to see things through to completion.
• Confidential: Has discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Adaptable: Able to adjust to different industries' ways of keeping records. Clients have unique needs and requests.
• Relational: Builds a trusting relationship with clients. Enjoys talking with clients and answering questions. Desire to be viewed as a trusted resource.
• Communication: Comfortable communicating over the phone, via video conference, and in person. Able to talk with business leaders with varying degrees of accounting knowledge.
• Team Player: Positive attitude, flexible, and willing to do whatever needs to be done. Someone willing to cross-train and provide support to the others in the office.

• $24-$30/hour. Dependent on Experience
