Job description

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator with a strong background in IT operations, advanced expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience providing support to end-users at all levels. The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our IT environment, as well as developing and implementing best practices and procedures for the company.

  • This role is Direct hire or Contract-to-Hire.

Responsibilities for the Sr Systems Administrator:

  • Manage and support the company's Microsoft 365 environment, including Azure AD, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Active Directory, and other technologies.
  • Install, patch, and configure laptops, servers, virtual machines and other systems in accordance with security hardening standards and change control procedures.
  • Develop and implement best practices and procedures for the team to ensure the stability, security, and performance of the environment.
  • Administration of endpoint management systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with the company’s environment and networking with other internal teams and vendors as needed to resolve issues.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and developments related to Microsoft 365, networking, security and make recommendations for improvements to the environment as appropriate.
  • Deliver continuous improvements to the organization’s global security posture.
  • Manage and configure various security and compliance features including DLP policies, retention policies, and conditional access policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company security and data privacy policies and industry standards.
  • Participate in planning and executing various company IT projects.
  • Configure and maintain various hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Conduct research on new hardware and software solutions and make recommendations for improvements to the IT infrastructure.

Education Requirements for the Sr Systems Administrator:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

Required for the Sr Systems Administrator:

  • At least 5 years of experience managing and supporting a Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams
  • Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications, are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IT security and data privacy best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and other related Microsoft technologies
