What you will do

In this role you will be responsible for successfully leading large, complex global engineering projects in the SAP Basis area, to include life-cycle upgrades and refreshes. You will lead interaction with Service Delivery and Platform Management to deliver projects in accordance with budget and timeline constraints.
With minimal supervision, you will lead large and complex global Enterprise Computing projects within the SAP Basis platform group. You will develop and deliver architectural concepts for complex systems, develop and implement new infrastructure technology standards in coordination with Enterprise Architecture, provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers and support analysts, and aggressively seek solutions to obstacles.

How you will do it

• Ensure the adherence to JCI infrastructure architecture standards, including obtaining formal sign-off of architecture at the defined review points across the PRISM methodology.

• Provide input to Platform Management and Infrastructure Architecture regarding existing and new technologies; propose changes to architecture standards and technology roadmaps.

• Lead the implementation and adoption of new technologies into the enterprise data center environments.

• Deep knowledge of SAP Basis: Technical Planning, Installations and Configurations (SAP S/4 HANA, FIORI, SLT, SOLMAN...), Upgrades, OS/DB Migrations, Unicode Conversions for SAP NetWeaver platform, SSO configuration, installation of SSL certificates.

• Mastery of the HANA knowledge including High Availability and Disaster Recovery.

• Responsibilities includes configuring, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system.

• Install SAP systems and related software (e.g. database), including upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance through the change management process and within scheduled maintenance windows.

• Administer and configure SAP systems for all JCI enterprise data centers.

• Monitor vendors’ support facilities for software updates and implement/recommend maintenance to keep systems current and well within vendors’ support requirements.

• Provide for system continuity by developing backup and recovery processes and procedures to support recovery from hardware and application failures.

• Develop Disaster Recovery plans, procedures and test scenarios and provide technical guidance at regular DR rehearsals.

• Develop and maintain SOX procedures for implementation by Service Delivery.

• Apply security policies to the SAP systems as determined by the IT Security group.

• Provide level III incident and problem management, responsible for resolution and root cause analysis of the most complex SAP Basis and database issues within established Operating Level Agreements.

• Interface and coordinate with business and application support teams, Global Infrastructure Architecture and Service Delivery functions.

• Maintain the SAP Basis Platform environment and makes recommendations that will improve knowledge of the latest developments impacting efficiency, throughput, capabilities, and/or capacity.

• Provide effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures and developments to Service Delivery.

What we look for:
Required

• 4-year University degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar appropriate education and commensurate work experience

• 10 years of SAP Basis Platform experience with understanding of Basis roles and responsibility

• Experience with High Available SAP systems is mandatory

• SAP BASIS, SAP HANA and S/4 HANA Migration experience including 2 years in Public or Private cloud (AZURE or GCP)

• Experience with installation and setup of BW4HANA and S4HANA systems

• Conversion experience of S4HANA and preferably BW4HANA systems

• Experience supporting BW 7.40 remote conversion to BW4HANA

• Good understanding of SLT, BODS, BW and BW4HANA

• Experience on web dispatcher, Fiori setup and administration

• Experience with HANA DB 1.0 & 2.0 upgrade, installation, and administration

• Experience with HANA System Replication and related technology

• Good understanding of Linux and Unix environments

• Experience on system refreshes of HANA and Sybase based SAP systems

• Hana DB administration and DMO experience

• Experience managing complex business and technical relationships

• Experience leading by example in a large, complex global environment

• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in speaking and writing English

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
