Sr. Payroll Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Accounting - Payroll

REPORTS TO: Payroll Manager

SUPERVISES: N/A

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Sr. Payroll Specialist- A Multi-Faceted, efficient, and reliable professional with a diverse financial background in deposits, payroll processing, and tax report processing.
Proficient in all standard office desktop software’s. Skills- Excel, ADP software, Pivot tables, Microsoft word.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Maintain confidential payroll information to run GL reports to ensure proper imports to accounting software ( SAGE)
Book journal entries & workers comp entries
Work with ADP to run reports pertaining to companies’ workers comp reporting.
Help with yearly Audits. ( 401k, Workers Comp)
Research and resolve any payroll discrepancies by working with Supervisor to analyze information.
Maintain payroll operations by following company policies and procedures, reporting needed changes, and seeking appropriate approvals.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed in a professional group office environment.

QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:

Attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines with little supervision

Ability to work independently.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in payroll or similar role.
High school Diploma or equivalent
