Job Description Summary: As the Global Payroll Transformation, Sr. Manager you will build and lead a team of global Payroll professionals, including Project Managers and analysts with the goal of transforming the payroll function at PayPal and procuring operational excellence across multiple regions (Americas, EMEA and APAC). This role will work closely with Regional Payroll Sr. Managers to identify opportunities to enhance deliverables for Payroll, Time Tracking, Project Management, Reporting and Analytics, Process Design, Quality Assurance, Communications and Content Management, and Process Improvement while striving for global standardization and harmonization. You will be required to be an action-oriented thought leader and partner, working with internal and external stakeholders in developing solutions designed to enhance the PayPal colleague experience.
Job Description:
- Drive global harmonization and best practices across payroll by centralizing common support activities.
- Drive efficiencies and economies of scale, while elevating team knowledge and provide escalated support as needed.
- Create and maintain payroll support tools including content management and documentation repository.
- Provide redundancy and back-up to the regional payroll leaders to minimize risks in critical payroll functions.
- Support payroll interfaces and systems by driving platform strategy and analytics for continued process improvement with primary focus on interface facilitation, coordination with company IT department teams, system configuration, data flow analysis and report writing.
- Work with the Global Payroll Director and Regional leads to define global payroll strategy, key performance indicators and payroll governance model.
- Drive environmental scanning, external trend analysis and global payroll benchmarking using internal and external tools including reporting and analytics.
- Driving end-to-end payroll procurement activities including selecting vendor partners, assist in negotiating contracts as well as planning regional implementation roll outs as needed while reviewing renewal policies.
- Design and deliver Global Payroll transformation program including program oversight, allocation of resources, timeliness of delivery and ultimate decision making.
- Manage a team of Regional Payroll Project Managers and Analysts
- Partner closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology, Information Security, Employee Central, Procurement, Corporate Communications, and Legal teams
- Support Regional Payroll teams with trend and root cause analysis and other data analytics requirements
- Partner with Regional Payroll Managers on identifying and developing skill assessment programs for the teams
- Work with Global Payroll Director to define global roles and responsibilities within the payroll governance model
- Redesign payroll KPIs and ensure these are embedded within manager’s / team’s targets
- Review audit readiness while creating and harmonizing global checklists
- Review AI/robotic process automation landscape as well as holding discussions with regional managers as to further needs
- Reviewing Global Payroll error reporting procedures

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, Business or related area of study
- 3+ years of experience in Global Project Management with focus on payroll, HCM integration, Time & Absence, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
- 3+ years of experience with large payroll or HCM systems such as Workday or ADP systems (GlobalView, ADP Streamline, preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing in a multinational company
- 3+ years of people and performance management
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and excellent problem-solving skills is a must.
- Experience with MS Office, especially Excel (including macros, Pivot Tables) and experience with SharePoint.
- Should be genuinely excited about technology, have a strong interest in learning about and using the latest technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ERP Applications (Workday, SAP, etc.) functional modules, integration points and technologies
- Experience with Labor Management and/or Time & Attendance systems
- 3+ years of experience within HRIS/Payroll Information Systems team (Workday exp. preferred)
- Knowledge of human resource technologies and business processes
- Ability to successfully manage conflict with positive results
- Strong bias for action. Must be a self-starter and highly motivated
- Ability to comfortably work in a fast paced, often ambiguous and event driven environment
- Business aptitude is preferred since this job will have moderate interaction with HR, Accounting and Operations
