Senior Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:

The Sr. HR Generalist’s primary duty is to provide support for assigned business unit as it relates to people issues, strategies and initiatives. Responsibilities will include supporting the recruitment and on-boarding process, developing strategic relationships within the community, analyzing issues and proposing solutions to people related issues, providing counsel and ensuring compliance on policies and procedures. The Sr. HR Generalist will also support HR processes (performance management, talent reviews, etc.), manage succession planning process and keep up to date with changing HR related regulations.

The Role:

  • Maintains HR Systems (Workday, Workforce Dimensions, etc.), job descriptions and oversees Ethics and Compliance training requirements.
  • Manages weekly and bi-weekly payroll as needed.
  • Conducts complex employee relations investigations; providing summaries, analyzing risk per policy and legal requirements. Partners with legal to finalize resolutions and provides recommendation to HR leadership.
  • Develops employee engagement strategies for the site with the HR leadership.
  • Holds listening sessions with employees to understand challenges and reports back to the HR leadership.
  • Provides training for leadership and employees on various HR topics as necessary.
  • Participates in global COE initiatives as they become available to ensure site voice is heard.
  • Assures compliance with laws and regulations related to employees and their relationship with their employer. Completes appropriate agency (EEOC, DOL, WCI, AAP) audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Management, Psychology or related field required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years related HR experience.
  • Advanced HR knowledge related to regulations (Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, etc.). Demonstrates basic understanding of risk management skills and how issues can impact the site.
  • Ability to understands all company policies and be seen as an advisor to the organization.
  • Able to conducts risk assessments regularly and draft new policies or update existing policies as needed
  • Advanced PC skills and knowledge of company specific software packages (Workday, Workforce Dimensions). Also has in-depth experience using Outlook, Word (including mail merge), Excel (including formulas and pivot tables), Visio preferred
  • Holds general knowledge of COE functions including but not limited to benefits, payroll, compensation, HR Technology, recruiting, talent development and communications
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English. Bi-lingual capabilities in Spanish and English are preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: This is an office-based position. Individual may be required to remain stationary for long periods and may occasionally lift 0-15 pounds. Will work in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time and operate basic office equipment.
