Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Tax Strategy to help build our global tax strategy. This position will support the organization by managing all aspects of global tax strategy and oversee the compliance and audits processes (tax returns and estimate payments for income, franchise, sales, use, excise, property and other transactional taxes) for International, U.S. Federal and state taxes. The Tax function is an overall part of Finance and accounting reporting to the CAO and interfaces with many departments across the globe as we work to establish and maintain our internal controls and strategy. The transactional tax work has been outsourced since 2018.

- Responsible for creating, prioritizing, and implementing international tax planning strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Proactively engage and generate ideas relative to international tax planning strategy.
- Provide tax guidance, advice, and risk management support to the company’s growth strategy including mergers and acquisitions.
- Act as a liaison for tax aspects of financial statement audits of PwC and governmental audits.
- Develop and review step plans and documentation relative to tax planning actions.
- Work with resources including external advisors to identify, analyze, implement, and monitor opportunities for tax minimization.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Work closely and collaboratively with senior leaders in finance, divisions and functional departments. -Manage relationships with tax authorities, compliance providers and external advisors.
- Identify domestic and international tax issues and their potential impact to the Company including those relating to GILTI, foreign income, Subpart F income, foreign tax credits, and transfer pricing.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in all aspects of ASC 740 which includes presenting quarterly and annual tax provisions to management and independent auditors.
- Lead resources in completing global tax processes and complying with regulatory requirements including financial statement disclosures and footnotes.
- Work collaboratively with others within and outside of the tax function to achieve goals, simplify processes, reduce costs, prevent loss, and to ensure that work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
Education / Experience:
- BA in Accounting and/or an advance degree
- CPA designation (required)
- 12+ years related tax experience including previous public accounting experience and leadership experience in a public company (ideally a manufacturing company)
- Public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in researching and developing new tax ideas and successfully implementing complex tax structures
- Ability to analyze information, derive insights, present, and interact with senior leadership globally
- Strategic thinker and view our business from both general management and financial perspectives
- Fast learner, capable of managing increasing levels of complexity and uncertainty
- Strong team player, capable of working successfully within cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and influencing skills
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as required
